November 2016The gas and steam combined cycle power plant - gas and oil-fired - in Kpone, Ghana, is designed for 340 MW. It will be the largest independent power plant in Africa. Gas will be supplied via the nearby West African Gas Pipeline. A unique feature of this power plant is that it is cooled by seawater.
