We confirm that we have supplied our ZFG/ZEFG cellular gas filters made of spheroidal graphite cast iron several times in recent years for the use of hydrogen. To date, we have not received any negative feedback from the reference projects used.
The functional suitability for use with hydrogen has so far been confirmed by our customers.
Our ZFG/ZEFG (ductile cast iron) and VZF/VZEF (cast aluminum) cellular gas filters have been subjected to a hydrogen emission test in accordance with DIN EN ISO 15848 by an independent institute.
The requirements of DIN EN ISO 15848 (max. 50 ppmv leak tightness of housing seals) were met and even significantly exceeded.
Based on several years of experience in the use of our cell gas filters type ZFG/ZEFG for hydrogen and the successful emission tests of all types, we rate our type-tested cell gas filters type ZFG/ZEFG and type VZF/VZEF as suitable for use in hydrogen systems.
At the customer's request, we are happy to carry out an additional leak test with helium.
We would like to point out that the suitability of the application for operation with natural gas-hydrogen mixtures with a hydrogen content of >10% by volume up to 100% must be determined by a risk assessment by the system operator before commissioning.
